Welcome to Ross
A close-knit community with a laid-back tempo
Less than 20 miles north of San Francisco, Ross is a small town filled with character, beautiful parks, untouched scenery, and an unmatched sense of community. Their town center includes Ross Common, the high-performing Ross School District, and a charming business district. Though the community only spans a 1.6-square-mile distance, Ross is home to 50 acres of various parks and open spaces for residents of all ages to play, exercise, and relax. Residential enclaves of Ross boast spaced-out streets leading up hillsides, giving lucky residents sweeping views of northern California and the Bay off in the distance.
One of the community's most beautiful gathering spots is the Marin Art and Garden Center. The grounds are open from sunrise to sunset every day of the week and often host pop-up markets and seasonal events like afternoon tea, art exhibits, and community yoga classes. Pixie Park is a private, gated playground for children aged six or younger located within the Marin Art and Garden Center. Other outdoor recreation can be found at Phoenix Lake. The popular Phoenix Lake Loop is a 2.8-mile pathway along the edges of the lake, making it a suitable jogging and biking path for visitors of all fitness levels. The city of Ross also hosts an annual Fourth of July celebration consisting of a parade, followed by a picnic on Ross Common featuring live music, games, face painting, and smoked sausages. Year-round dining can be enjoyed on Ross Common at one of the locally owned and operated eateries. Trattoria Fresco offers homemade Italian staples prepared with seasonal, organic ingredients. Flatbreads, tagliatelle, red snapper, and perfectly prepared steaks have developed a fine reputation in town. Make sure you save room for the tiramisu! Just across the road, Crown and Crumpet Cafe is a cozy coffee shop soaked in small-town charm. Their proper English tea, featuring delectable handmade desserts, is unlike anything else in town. After tea, head into Laurel House Antiques and Consignments to find unique treasures for your home and wardrobe from previous times.
