Greenbrae

Allowing residents to enjoy alfresco dining from one of the many local eateries.

Welcome to Greenbrae

A cozy community nestled between the hills and the creek

Beneath the hills and above the northern shore of Corte Madera Creek, Greenbrae is a small, close-knit waterfront community located close to the ferry terminal to San Francisco. Brae, Scottish for “hillside,” has aided in giving this community a very literal name. The beautiful neighborhood benefits from mild temperatures year-round, allowing residents to enjoy alfresco dining from one of the many local eateries or the comfort of their own waterfront patio along the Corte Madera Creek.

The San Francisco Bay area is home to some of the best seafood and Asian cuisine in the country. Both of these can be found at Fukusuke Japanese Restaurant. This family-run establishment specializes in Japanese classics, like sushi and bento boxes. Chicken teriyaki, spicy tuna, and California rolls are served alongside an impressive sake selection. Gott’s Roadside serves more traditional American fare, with a California twist. Burgers topped with creamy avocado, ahi tuna, and several vegan-friendly options are top sellers. For dessert, locals flock to SusieCakes. Whether it’s a special celebration or just another Tuesday night, SusieCakes has developed a loyal following for their delectable cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and pies. Other locally run favorites can be found at Bon Air Greenbrae. This collection of over 50 shops and restaurants has been the central gathering point for the community for nearly 70 years.

Some of their annual events include Santa visits and classic car shows. One beloved shop within Bon Air is Secret Garden, an enchanting children's clothing store. Secret Garden carries clothing for infants and children up to size 16. A Bay Area favorite for more routine shopping is Mollie Stone's Markets. Greenbrae is fortunate enough to have its own location within Bon Air. Mollie Stone's delivers, caters, and provides Bay Area residents with an overall elevated selection of pantry staples. Outside of Bon Air, Hal Brown Park is another scenic community gathering place, popular for its playground, amphitheater, walking paths, and picnic tables laid out across their 27 acres. Park-goers enjoy beautiful views of the nearby Corte Madera Creek and Mount Tamalpais in the distance.
