Welcome to Corte Madera

A peaceful refuge and close-knit community on the water

Within a quiet enclave of the San Francisco Bay, the community of Corte Madera is a picture-perfect suburban neighborhood offering a peaceful refuge from the hustle and bustle of inner San Francisco. Both Highway 101 and Interstate 580 are easily accessible to Corte Madera residents. Holidays are frequently celebrated in the company of neighbors at one of the local parks or the Town Center Corte Madera, one of the more popular shopping and dining centers of the region. This community may be small, but its charm and friendly nature have made a big impression on neighboring NoCal communities.

High-end shopping can be found in The Village at Corte Madera, an expansive, open-air shopping center. Upscale department stores, alfresco dining, and more can be found alongside these meticulously maintained walkways. Across the highway, Town Center Corte Madera offers a similar selection of stylish shops and is a frequent host for local events. While these shopping centers are wonderful one-stop destinations for fun-filled days out and about, Corte Madera is home to many top-rated freestanding dining institutions, like Marin Joe's Restaurant. Steak and homemade pasta dishes are served in a traditional, warm space with a piano bar showcasing nightly performances by some of the area's best local artists. Il Fornaio originated in Italy and is now a popular chain of California eateries. Staying true to their roots, homemade linguine and hand-tossed pizza are some of their most popular offerings, prepared in a traditional, old-fashioned manner. Another popular west coast chain is Pacific Catch, known for its easy-going seafood plates with Pacific Rim influence. Sushi, coconut shrimp, and ceviche all pair well with their seasonal selection of just-caught fish.

Throughout the summer, the town hosts a Summer Music Series every Sunday featuring some of northern California's best musical acts. Concerts are held at Town Center under a canopy of shady trees. The Fourth of July is a highly-anticipated time of year when Corte Madera and the neighboring community of Larkspur put on their annual Fourth of July Festival and Parade, complete with fireworks over the water. In the fall, Oktoberfest is a vibrant, lively event for locals to sample Bavarian brews, bites, and activities enjoyed in the company of live musical performances. More quiet recreational time can be spent at one of the community’s several lush parks.
